Cambodia National Mine Action Strategy, 2010-2019
Cambodia identifies gender mainstreaming as a key area in their national mine action strategy. Particularly in the field of risk education, stakeholders will continue to develop specific behaviour messages and activities tailored to male and female high-risk groups. They have a company of female soldiers in the Cambodian People’s Revolutionary Army which in 1979 cleared thousands of hectares of land and destroyed thousands of landmines and ERWs to provide safe resettlement and agricultural land. They currently hold data on the number of men and female children familiar with risk education and will be producing gender and mine disaggregated data for the national mine action database
